Had to get some postcards done for the fabric yahoo group swap as I had voted that I wanted to do some, lol. So these are fabric 4x6 inch postcards. A little out of normal for me but fell in love with this teapot fabric as soon as I seen it. So had to try one or two. Might be the last of my art for a bit again. Got a load out of SD going to Minneapolis and then whenever after that. Leaving tonight to go load in the morning.

Sharing some photos
ok had my son take a picture of me au natural, in my jammies and robe which is how I usually sit around creating. Also a picture of my bestest helper, Trevin. 3 year old grandson who comes to visit me when his Mom ain't looking, lol. He is the one I am usually writing about. He got to go with us in the big truck, also included in the pictures here. It's not washed as it was a VERY muddy day when we loaded the crane but it shows the size of our truck. We were loading crane pieces that they use to put up the wind towers. I am 5'10" and there is a picture of me standing next to one of the housings for the tower. That is the piece the blades fit into. Just so you get an idea of the size. They don't look that big from far off do they? Ok hubby needs computer and I have scared enough people today so off to play cards with Orin and Kyah Beth(grandkids)

Fabric postcard with dyed batting
Dyed batting
Now this way fun. In our art techniques group the challenge this month is to paint or dye batting. I used some wool type I think, lol. I got it at the consignment shop and all I know is that is isn't polyester type. I used some liquid water colors I got from Dick Blick's for a Traci Batista video(that I still haven't tried). I love how the colors turned out and am going to play with some stamps and maybe some white gesso. I do highly recommend rubber gloves while doing this as I didn't with the first piece and turquois is very hard to scrub out from around your fingernails, lol. I hung them with clothes pins to dry and love how the clothes pin sucked the color out. I think it adds to the overall look. On the pink I was going to see if the lid from the blue would make a stamp image but the batting was still too wet and it didn't work the way I wanted it to but is still kind of cool. Next time I will leave the turquoise in longer. I am going to add them to post cards for a swap in opur fabric group on yahoo.

Eww!!!! tax relief please?
Had to get our trucking taxes done for the various states we run in. I hate doing those. How many miles did you drive here and all total states, how much did you pay for your truck, trailer, toilet paper, lol. Ok well not the toilet paper but anyhow. Thank God no miles in NY this quarter. There you have to keep track of loaded and empty toll and non toll miles. Mostly it's just how many miles, send a check. Now they all want to do everything online and then add another $3. or $4 to do it on line. They seem to think truckers are made of money. Ok not going there in this post, lol. Trevin, the 3 year old grandson, did let me get one card done this morning before I started on paper work. The little cowboy reminds me of my brothers when they were little. They would have been in heaven with chaps like this little guys, lol. But the saying cracked me up and I had to do something with it. The stitches are intentionally crooked and made to look like a little kid did them. I was trying to work in some measuring tape fabric Melinda gave me but it just didn't fit in on this one so will go for the next one. That stuff is sooooo cool. The next one is a study in layers. Not sure if I totally like it but decided it had enough, lol. This one is for our dear Sanna Banana in our fabric group, who is having surgery this coming Monday. Sanna, I am thinking of you and saying many prayers that you will be fine. And I hope you like this card . Lots of Artchix items on this one. I need to get another order in but trying my best to be good. Not doing very well but trying, lol. Ok off to bed for now. Whipped again. I can't believe it's only 11. I am ruining my reputation going to bed this early. Must be getting old, lol. Nighters. Hugz
Home again, home again, jiggity jog
Home again. 23 days out that time but we did good. Fuel was spendy but we found good paying loads. Took some looking though. "Just Say No to Cheap Freight", that's us, lol. Ok enough preaching. Been making some more fabric cards. Kind of hampered by our 3 year old grandson, Trevin, who apparently missed Nanna Cheri terribly and can't live a second away from me without throwing a hissy fit. We have had fun the last 3 days though. We took him with Monday to deliver our load and he LOVED riding in the big truck. Even helped pull straps off the load. Too cute. He got 2 new toy tractors today and drove them up and down my legs all afternoon, lol. He cracks me up.
Anyhow, back to the cards. I made 3 new ones and have a couple more set up waiting for my printer to cooperate so I can get the pictures printed onto the fabric. I will get a bigger hammer tomorrow and can finish them tomorrow night, if everything goes my way, lol. These 3 are all traded. The Star is Born made front page honors on our fabric group. I just love that belly dancer picture. You can't really see it very well in the scan but there is a sheer layer of shimmer fabric over the flower fabric. Not sure what it is called but I got a big lot of it and will be using it alot I think. That one went to our lovely Miss Sanna Banana. She is such a nice lady. Love her humor and her art is just to die for literally. I am one of her biggest fans. She got me started on the fabric ATC's and always has such words of encouragement for me. She is a delicate critic also. I can handle it from her, lol. I also got some skeleton leaves and used one right away on the I feel pretty card(the one with French words, that's what it says according to the translation page I found). I love those and have been wanting some forever. Judy was such a sweetie to share a package with me. Thank you Judy. Ok can't see any more so have to go to bed and rest my eyeballs. It's 1:30 am and I am old. I should have been in bed ages ago but was trying some unsuccessful transfers, grrrr. Nighters. Hugz
